Looking back at TEK2025: Trailblazing innovations

At TEKNOWLOGY 2025, DeFrabrique in Utrecht transformed into a vibrant hub of innovation, where researchers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and other pioneers came together for a full day of inspiring talks, interactive sessions, and cutting-edge science and technology.

Trailblazing innovations for a sustainable future | How do we create an innovation ecosystem that encourages bold thinking, trust, and collaboration? What role does technology play in driving societal transitions? And how can we ensure broad public support for new solutions? These questions were at the heart of TEKNOWLOGY 2025. Through keynotes of David Abbink, Anne Fleur van Veenstra and Robert Dingemanse, workshops, and interdisciplinary sessions, visitors explored the mindset and environment needed to tackle today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.

From vision to impact | The innovation market showcased tangible examples of groundbreaking technologies. Finalists of NWO’s Open Mind grant pitched their bold, outside-the-box ideas for sustainable solutions to societal issues. Sessions on creative thinking, public-private partnerships, and strengthening the innovation ecosystem offered fresh perspectives and practical tools to accelerate change.

A day of energy, insight, and connection | TEKNOWLOGY 2025 proved that shaping a just and sustainable future starts with bringing diverse perspectives together. Attendees left the festival energized, inspired, and equipped to make a difference in their own fields.
