Maria Verschoor

Programme officer, NWO

Maria Verschoor is a policy officer and advisor within the NWO Domain Applied and Engineering Sciences. She has been working at NWO for over 10 years. Over the years she has developed and implemented various impact-oriented thematic research programmes, often in collaboration with Ministry departments and other research- and knowledge organisations.

Fostering meaningful internal and transdisciplinary collaborations has been an important focus, as well as the Theory of Change and NWO Impact Plan approach. Both with a view of knowledge development which is of use to (stakeholders in) society. As advisor, she helps sharpen organisation and domain goals and strategies. Amongst others, by facilitating the right conversation, with room for everyone's knowledge and insights, but also the focus on articulating (a) common goal(s) and organizational focus. Maria is involved in diverse projects, including the development of the National Action Plan Integral Innovation. In the latter project, she has paid special attention to incorporating knowledge and insights from the technology domain.
